Nitrate adsorption by fired clay in fixed bed column

چکیده
Excessive use of nitrogen fertilizers has increased nitrate concentrations in groundwater, which poses a health hazard from nitrate-contaminated drinking water and contributes to eutrophication. Nitrate removal systems been carefully studied; However, new, low-cost solutions are urgently needed. Clay terracotta minerals commonly used environmental applications due their non-toxicity, global availability, low cost, physical chemical properties (ion-exchange capacity, high surface area, adsorption, catalytic properties). Although most reduce cationic pollutants, depending on the method modification or materials with they mixed, can be equally effective removing anionic contamination. The goal study is treat containing excessive nitrates produce acceptable specifications evaluate performance fired clay as environmentally friendly treatment material.

متن کاملErratum to: Adsorption performance of packed bed column for nitrate removal using PAN-oxime-nano Fe2O3
A continuous fixed bed study was carried out by using PAN-oxime-nano Fe2O3 as a sorbent for the removal of nitrate from aqueous solution. The effect of factors, such as flow rate (2, 5 and 7 mL/min) and bed depth (5, 10 and 15 cm) were studied. Data confirmed that the breakthrough curves were dependent on flow rate and bed depth. The adsoption capacities observed in diffent conditions of flow r...
متن کاملFixed-bed Column of Surface Modified Activated Carbons for Adsorption of Mercury (ii) in Aqueous Solution
Activated carbons are universal adsorbents that can be obtained from a wide variety of raw materials, and have been found to be very effective for mercury removal from water. This contribution presents a comparative adsorption in column study of activated carbons obtained by physical activation of carbonized eucalyptus wood with water vapour, as adsorbents of mercury in liquid phase. Two sampl...
